My daughter Chloe was devastated at 21 to find out she had fallen pregnant after using every contraception to man. Finally some months later was excited and had come around to the fact she was going to be a mother.
Seven months into the pregnancy on the regular ultra sound they discovered the flow of blood to the heart was insufficient and she was sent off to a cardiologist. She was told that baby had 3 holes in her heart and would need to be monitored through the pregnancy and after. The discussed the fact there was a possibility that the baby may have downs syndrome due to the heart condition. The pregnancy went on and she began getting her nest ready along with her partner.
On the day of the birth I was in there with her massaging her feet and back and just being a mum where possible. My beautiful granddaughter Matilda was born late in the evening, she was the most precious thing I had ever seen. They both new from the birth she had mosaic syndrome and they were not worried in the least, they loved this child with all their being from the moment they saw her. The pediatrician was scared to tell them of the condition, but I told her they already new.
A few months after the birth she wasn't gaining weight so was put into hospital and there she had her open heart surgery to repair the holes in her heart. She was such a brave little thing, seeing her lie there with all the tubes a feeling of helplessness fell over me.
My little precious now is putting on so much weight its a pleasure to see. Her milestones are up to date...she is now rolling over, and by the sounds of her feel those teeth are not far off. My daughter is the most wonderful mother in the world...she has so much patient and love to give and I feel little Matilda can feel that love always. I feel this beautiful child has been sent to us all for some purpose and I love each day I spend with her.
